The Luisa gift bag

The idea for this gift bag came when myself and my niece/goddaughter and I were having one of our crafty afternoons. My niece loved the little black handbag that I made last week but was keen to make one to her liking. So we started talking and I came up with a drawing of the bag she was describing whilst keeping it simple enough for her to make (she is only 9 years old)
And this is the end result .......

And we named it after her  the Luisa Bag !
This bag was super quick and easy to make whilst looking elegant a win
win as far as I am concerned.
The bag measures 5”x4”

To make this bag you will need the following cut from whisper white card
 A piece of card measuring
6 1/4” x 9”
Scoring the long side at 1”, 5”, 6”
Short side at 1” , 6”
Trimmed like the picture

And a piece of card measuring
61/4” x 5”
Scoring the long side at 6 1/4” x 5”
Short side at 1”
Cut as the picture below

And a piece for the handle measuring
1” x 9”
Scoring the short side at 1/4” x 3/4”

You will also need a piece of embossed card measuring
2 3/4” x 4 3/4”

And a bow (which I got from my stash)

After rounding the corners of the flap of the larger part of the bag and 2 corners of the embossed pice of card

I glued the embossed piece onto the bag flap of the larger piece like so

I then glued the bag together to form the body of the bag
Using a 1/8” hole punch I punched a hole in each side of the bag and in the folded and glued handle.

And I inserted metallic brads to hold the handle in place like so

I hope you like this project and make it at home
Much love Kayla xxxx
